On rescue missions, the waypoint always points to or near the location
of your victims. Press W to select different waypoints to
intercept. Once you arrive at the waypoint, hover to a lower altitude
(500 feet MSL or less) and begin circling the area to look for victims.
The image on the right shows how victims (1 and 2) would look from that
such a position.
Once you've spotted the victims, you'll need to slowly and carefully
fly towards them. Apply gentle pitching and banking to manuver the
aircraft over the victim. Then carefully reduce your altitude to 100
feet MSL or less, but make sure that you stay above the water (this takes
a lot of practice and a delicate touch).
Press P to select the right hoist deployment and
press then CTRL + MINUS to lower the hoist (the door
will open automatically). Switch to the hoist end view F5
for the best vantage point on the situation.
Use a combination of adjusting the hoist rope to move the basket
(1) up and down and manuver the aircraft over the victim (2).
Once you have the victim in the basket, press CTRL + PLUS
to pull the victim all the way up and into the aircraft (the door will
close automatically when everything has been pulled in.
You can press S at any time to see the mission status
and how many passengers you have on board. Press W to change
way point to your next destination.
